Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh have expressed sorrow over the sad demise of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad who was buried in an avalanche at Siachen glacier on 3 February, 2016 and was rescued on 8 February. He took his last breath today morning at New Delhi Army Hospital.
Governor and Chief Minister said that Martyr Hanumanthappa Koppad was real hero who sacrificed his life for the cause of the country. They saluted the bravery of soldiers who despite of all odds were safeguarding the frontiers of the Nation. They said people of the country were proud of its valiant soldiers.
They prayed for the peace of departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members.
