Srinagar:A girl who was abducted by a youth in Kupwara has been recovered in Dalhousie Himachal Pradesh, with the kidnapper arrested, police said.
The girl had been abducted on January 5 by Dilawar Ahmad Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh resident of Zachaldara.
Soon, police filed an FIR number 07/16 and took up the investigation to search for the kidnapper and the girl.
“During the investigation, several accomplices of Dilawar were arrested for their involvement in facilitating the kidnapping,” police said.
Headed by Sub Inspector Masroor Ahmad, the police team after strenuous efforts got the information that the kidnapped girl has been taken outside the state in Dalhousie Himachal Pradesh.
“Police in coordination with the state police of Himachal Pradesh arrested the accused along with the abducted girl. The girl has been later handed over to her relatives,” police said.
