Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Nov. 23 (ANI): Illegal sand mining in the Sutlej River basin in Himachal Pradesh is on the rise. This unscientific and illegal method of sand queering is not only creating environmental hazards, but also, giving a fillip to corruption. As per data available with the Industry Department, as many as 3,875 cases of illegal sand mining have been registered so far, of which in 2,600 cases, fines were imposed.
