Shimla jaundice outbreak: Run-away contractor lands in police net, HC rejects bail plea

In a major breakthrough, Shimla police on Friday arrested Akshay Doegar, an influential hotelier-cum-contractor who had gone underground after police had registered an FIR for jaundice outbreak in the town which has claimed seven lives and left over a 1000 citizens so far. Immediately after his arrest from outside the high court, he was later escorted to Dhalli police station by the SP himself for his custodial interrogations along with two other IPH officials accused in the case, including a junior engineer. Asked about the sections invoked against the contractor, Negi said,"The list of charges is very elaborate.
